Executive Summary

Tosa Consultants is an “S” Corporation founded in 2001 and has received no outside investments. Tosa Consultants develops WEB sites and security system under the Linux operating system and uses open source software to decrease the development costs. Tosa Consulting provides the major source of income.

Tosa Consultants objectives are to expand the uses of Linux operating systems and open source software to develop low cost training systems for military and government use. These goals will be obtained by providing customer satisfaction first; and providing a low cost system. The development team specializes in developing a custom Linux system, which provides the best result for the cost.

v     The Market

State government needs to produce a higher return on investment (ROI); Florida spends 300 million on IT. The Linux system will provide a non-recurring cost for their IT dollars.  Military training systems are expanding to keep up with technology. Open source software can be used in military/government systems and will provide very competitive pricing.

v     The Products

Tosa Consultants connects several Linux systems to provide real time response for training systems. When additional processing is required additional systems can be connected. The training system will be optimized for high-speed communications and graphic responses

v     The Strategy

Build custom versions of Linux system to demonstrate the platform capabilities. Develop a training simulation to demonstrate the graphic capability of the Linux system using open source software such as “Flightgear”, OpenGL,and OpenCV. We focus on small to medium size trainer/simulators and Area Access System.

v     The Management Team

The management team has worked on military/government training systems since 1970. Total experience exceeds 45 years developing real time computer systems, training systems and inserting new technologies into existing systems.

Note: Flightgear is a typical Open Source simulation, which can be adapted for training.  It was designed to be a low cost simulator and is easy to modify.

OpenGL (Open Graphics Library) is a standard specification defining a cross-language, cross-platform API for writing applications that produce 2D and 3D computer graphics. The interface consists of over 250 different function calls which can be used to draw complex three-dimensional scenes from simple primitives. OpenGL was developed by Silicon Graphics Inc. (SGI) in 1992[2] and is widely used in CAD, virtual reality, scientific visualization, information visualization, and flight simulation.

OpenCV is a computer vision library originally developed by Intel. It is free for use under the open source BSD license. The library is cross-platform. It focuses mainly on real-time image processing. If the library finds Intel's Integrated Performance Primitives on the system, it will use these commercial optimized routines to accelerate itself.
